Appointments booked for today

The queue turns the day's bookings into a running order the front desk can work. It is the screen a receptionist should have open all day.

How the queue works

  • Waiting holds tickets in the order they will be seen. A ticket is created when a booked patient checks in, or when you issue a walk-in.
  • Pending holds no-shows — patients who were called and did not answer. They sit here awaiting a decision rather than disappearing.
  • Call Next advances the queue and moves that patient to In Progress.
  • The banner tells you whether the queue has been started for the day.

Running the day

  1. 1Open Appointments and stay on Queue with the scope on Today.
  2. 2Start the queue when the clinic opens.
  3. 3Check patients in as they arrive; each becomes a ticket in Waiting.
  4. 4For a patient without a booking, click Walk-in and issue a ticket.
  5. 5Use Call Next when a room frees up.
  6. 6Deal with anyone who lands in Pending — re-call them, or cancel and offer the slot on.

Filter by doctor when several are consulting at once, so the front desk is looking at one clinician's line rather than the whole building.
