Clinicon's modules depend on each other, and the dependencies are not obvious from the interface. Fields sit empty and forms refuse to save until the thing they draw from exists. This sequence is the order the system actually requires — work down it and nothing blocks you.

  1. 1Clinic identity — Settings → Clinic Info. Name, licence number, specialty, tax ID, address, contact details. Set Timezone and Currency here before anything else; they govern how every appointment time and every amount in the system is interpreted.
  2. 2Roles — Settings → Roles & Permissions. Seven roles ship with the product. Review what each one grants before you hire against it. Nothing downstream works until roles exist, because the Staff form draws its role list from here.
  3. 3Branches and rooms — Settings → Branches for locations, Spaces for the rooms inside them. Appointments, lab orders and imaging orders all offer a room picker, and those pickers are empty until spaces exist.
  4. 4Lookup tables — Settings → Lookup Tables. Two lists feed dropdowns across the product: Insurance Providers and Specialties. Populate them before registering patients, or your front desk will type insurer names free-hand and you will never be able to report on them.
  5. 5Staff — Staff → Add Staff. Each person needs a name, email, phone, password, role, join date and a weekly schedule. The schedule matters more than it looks: a doctor's working days decide which dates are bookable against them.
  6. 6Services catalogue — Settings → Services Catalog defines the lab tests and imaging procedures your facility offers, with price and turnaround. Doctor consultation services are configured separately, on the doctor's own record.
  7. 7Inventory stores, then stock — Settings → Inventory Stores first, because a store is a storage location and the Inventory item form will not save without one. Then add items in Inventory.
  8. 8Clinical templates — Settings → Rx Templates for prescription sets a doctor can drop into a consultation, Instructions for the default patient advice printed on every visit summary, and Print & Docs for your letterhead, medical certificate wording and which sections appear on the visit summary.
  9. 9Notifications and security — Settings → Notifications to choose which events send SMS and email, the reminder lead time and quiet hours. Settings → Security to set auto-logout and turn on two-factor authentication before real patient data goes in.
